Fabrication Facilities

The newly renovated 6,000-square-foot fabrication shop at SCI-Arc plays an integral role in student work, supporting hands-on experimentation with materials and construction. The shop is equipped with a wide array of traditional metal and woodworking machinery and tools, including new multi-use drill presses and table saws with the latest safety features, sanders and planers. Metal working equipment includes band saws, milling machines, lathes, welders, and cutters. The fabrication shop is complimented by the newly constructed "Magic Box." The 4,000-square-foot, 2-story digital fabrication facility includes state-of-the-art computer controlled (CNC) machines, laser cutters, 3-axis milling machines, a 3D scanner, and powder, resin, and paper 3D printers. It expands the school’s experimental approach to three dimensional design.
