Hsinming Fung

Hsinming Fung is the Chief of Strategic Advancement & International/Special Projects at SCI-Arc. She is co-founder and Director of Design at Hodgetts + Fung. She has over thirty years of experience as an internationally recognized architect and educator. From 2002-2010, Fung was the Director of Graduate Programs at SCI-Arc, advancing the school’s M.Arch programs and initiating three new post-graduate programs: SCIFI (Future Initiatives), MediaSCAPES and ESTm. She has held visiting professorships at Yale, MIT, The Royal Academy of Copenhagen and Universidad del Diseño-UniDis, Costa Rica. Under her direction, Hodgetts + Fung has received numerous design awards and citations including the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design, a Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architects, and an Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The firm was recognized with a General Service Administration Design Excellence Award from the Federal Government and a Firm of the Year Award from the American Institute of Architects, California Council. Fung is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, serves as a National Peer for the General Services Administration in Washington, DC, and in 2004 she was nominated by President Clinton to serve on the National Endowment for the Arts Council. Fung received a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Dominguez Hills and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles.
